My baby boy is 11 months old, next month I will become the mother of a ONE year old!! How is this even possible?!? I look back at all we have experienced the past year and how much more complete our family feels with Alex in it. He is such a blessing to everyone around him and we are blessed with some of the best relatives! Well, I haven't posted in a while so maybe I should update as best I can...
Tom & I are taking a math class together (the last class he needs for his degree!!) and because of this, Alex gets to spend time every week with his Grandma Pocknell and also with his Aunt DaNell & cousins Brinley and Owen. Alex loves his Grandma Pocknell, they have such a blast together I'm sure. Whenever he sees her, his face just LIGHTS up! It's really fun to watch him with her.
And while Brinley and Owen are a little more active than Alex, he enjoys being with them! I'm told that Brinley likes to do "Itsy Bitsy Spider" with him and that he loves it. Owen is on the go so much, they barely notice each other most of the time. But I am confident that as the boys get older they will be best friends! I mean, how can they not? They are only 10 weeks apart and we live in the house behind them! hehe
We had a bit of cooler weather for a week or so which was so nice and it allowed us to restart our weekly picnic in the park as a family. This weekend, however, is supposed to be in the 100's again! So I think our picnic plans are on hold for at least another week. Halloween is rapidly approaching, and I'm quite proud of myself that I already have Alex's costume picked out :) Winnie the Pooh never looked better! hehe I'm very excited to take my little man trick or treating with his cousins! And after Halloween comes his birthday...oh boy let's not even go there, I will be very emotional!
Thanksgiving is coming up next and I can't wait to get together with family and celebrate all the blessings we have in life and give thanks for having each other. It's ONE of my favorite holidays of the year. And then will come Christmas...I need to put together my shopping list soon so I can start shopping for presents!
While I enjoy the holidays a lot, they are sometimes quite sad for me...but NOT THIS YEAR! This year, Tom is NOT working on any of the holidays!!! I genuinely look forward to spending time as a TRUE family on the holidays!!
Okay, I think I'm done updating now...I hope to keep up with this blog more often!
